in search of perfect bag …

… almost every women has her favourite part of clothes or accessories, so do I
(in random order): jeans, sunglasses and bags …  and it’s about bags today

bag number one – short story … long time ago, on lazy summer day I was wandering around flea market in search of “nothing special”. I passed couple of times one guy who was selling old bags (this was the time when old bags were just old bags, not vintage) and I noticed one of them but was not really convinced. I did couple of more rounds and finally decided to buy it since it was really cheap. It has been waiting for a while before I finally appreciated it, we’ll celebrate our 10th anniversary this year …

bag number two – short story … not so long time ago I moved abroad, I moved to the place where you can get whatever bag you would like to have; after some important moments in my life it was decided by the family I should be priced with a great bag … so I started hunting, and I think I saw really all bags available in the city, I tried on half of them and seriously get bored and tired with the procedure (yes, it was no longer fun) … shortly after that I went to visit my home town and I found THE bag just like that  … (this story is a real killer isn’t it?… ha!)

bag number three – short story … just recently I was spending my evening going through the offer of one on-line shop with designer clothes (I do it regularly because sometimes they really have great deals and you can get some good piece of cloth for REALLY reasonable price) and I found it (although I was not really looking for it since I have just bought THE bag), there was some kind of special weekend discount so I priced myself again with my very first designer bag. I was so happy when it arrived! I even thought he (the designer) wrote me a short letter which was romantic hidden in the inside pocket of the bag but … it turned out it’s just the warning that if I do not wear the bag with light coloured, soft and delicate clothes only (I do not wear such stuff !!!!!) and do not put it into special dust bag when not using it… then if something happens to the bag, he (the D.) does not care … life is a b…

but I love them all, the first one reminds me how old I am and the other two about very special moments of my life !

My daily menu …

we all know there are only few women in the world that look good without make-up and maybe one or two that do not use any cosmetics at all, there are also women who like to follow new cosmetic trends and those who one day discover “the cream” or “the lipstick” or any other “the thing” and keep using it for ages … I am in the second group. I already mentioned about one of my recent discoveries Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse but I have to tell you about “the cream”, we’ve been together for about three years so far, well yes I did try to replace him (it must be him) but no, nothing else can do what he can, let me introduce:
Clarins Multi-Active (both day and night cream)
I love everything about it (him does not fit here), the consistence, the smell, the feeling after putting it on my face, truly great. It’s very efficient and also if I have a budget situation like “eat or cream” I use the night version as 24h cream … and in Germany where I am now it’s very often sold as special offer – das freut mich sehr !
what else do I have in my menu …
this is not full list, since as self-respecting woman I use 100s of cosmetics before I go out to throw my trash away … but I will share information only about those which are worth it (to be continued)

weekend according to the blog and weekend …

last days of summer, it was so nice and warm in The Englischer Garten today … lovely! perfect day of doing nothing, just wandering around with a cup of coffee to go, couple of photos here and there … and nice, relaxing afternoon on the sofa with my favourite magazines …

… well hmm, maybe not exactly … actually it was bloody cold today, first snow … with rain, well – yes I was wandering around holding my cup of coffee to go very tight so that it does not fly away … crowds of people in city centre where I went today and was running around like a headless chicken searching for wooden toys … completely wet because someone did not recognise his or her umbrella lying on the floor near shop entrance (where people leave wet umbrellas) and took mine …
what a day !
but I did committed shopping (to be continued)

poodle is actually a sweater …

I just could not resist sharing another very short post already today … I am obsessed with sweaters, the bigger, the more fluffy, the better … best if it’s with a lot of mohair, wool, alpaca … in many versions: longer, shorter … with jeans, leather pants, leggings … with boots, ballerinas, moccasins …  and I was just drawing one of them, accompanied by a wide-leg mustard wool pants when I realised it’s a poodle …

still I love it !
… there are some real example of my beloved/most wanted clothes … but still on the way, the preparation phase is longer then I expected
Good night !

my beauty discoveries … Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

… better late than never, I know it’s been already 20 years of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse on the market but it happened I met this great oil only this year; it’s a bit funny because I wouldn’t say that effects of using it are spectacular (or maybe I not patient enough) but it’s so nice just to spread it on the skin, it smells like you have just come back from beach – this feeling is priceless especially in autumn and winter time, enjoy !

Style icon or not …

I have a serious question to the world of fashion … Who is the style icon?
Is a person with great amount of clothes already a style icon?
I find it a bit confusing when someone who puts a lot of labels on and goes here and there suddenly becomes a style icon … that might be because for me style is the reflection of character and I need it to speak to me …
My understanding is the following: first a person needs to have a clear style, … how do I know the person has it? I do the “google image test” … enter the name of the suspect and search for photos … then if I am able to somehow describe characteristic features, find some common intention in what she or he is wearing then imho the person has a certain style (whether I like it or not), the next step would be to “decide” whether she or he is an icon. I am not complaining about the fact that there are many beautiful girls hanging around, who without taking a breath can list all the labels they are wearing, I am just wondering who is the style icon and who is not …
Any opinions?

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda …

I heard once that the best pieces of clothes are the ones we didn’t manage to get (for whatever reasons), we remember them best … hmm true for me, I can easily recall those beautiful shoes I was too late to buy whereas it happens that I find in my wardrobe some whatever piece of cloth I bought in 1980 and never wore …

… below some of my wish list clothes which will most probably appear in sub-category “I_was_to_late_to_buy_you_on_sale”;  BTW this would be one of my looks for the autumn this year …
I hope it’s visible that the lovely person is me … oh OK …, one additional thing I would like to see there as well … a big, plastic brooch, … in mouth shape

dresses and bows …

I love dresses but almost never wear them myself, I am totally jeans person … anyway it does not stop me from being very, very picky when it comes to dresses, I haven’t seen so many which I would truly love … until one day … I saw it at Hanneli Mustaparta blog, the dress is from Nina Ricci FW12-13 collection and it’s perfect … shape, colour, fabric, the bow and SIZE (!!!), just see …
I immediately searched for information about  Peter Copping – the designer who is currently at Nina Ricci – I had to learn something more about the person who created such masterpiece … and I found a great interview with Copping made by Iris Apfel (via phone !) … while reading I could almost smell the aroma of old Paris and a bit of … Arsenic and Old Lace (1944), I am definitely coming back to Iris herself one day …
I am really becoming like the characters from Woody Allen”s film Midnight in Paris (2011) … if only I could live in Paris in 30-thies, 40-thies … but coming back to dresses and bows I would like to share one of the very few dresses of mine (2009) …

can everyone see the bow???
good !!
