In search of your own style, style lifecycle …

… there is nothing new under the sun, style changes through the years … I believe there are some people who are born with defined and unchangeable idea of their style but I haven’t met any of them …
… when I was very young I had a lot of clothes, the more I had, the more I had nothing to wear ! …  I did not bother so much about the quality, it was more accidental that I got something really great … but in certain way I was happy with my attitude …
… now I am old(er) and I really see, I do not need so much but I want my clothes to be made of great fabrics (I know, I know … nothing new, everyone says that now-a-days: invest in bones, buy essentials that are highest quality and that will serve you for ages)
… but I think this also comes from your attitude to life, you need less because you finally know what suits you best (that’s btw, for me the biggest “mystery” of being stylish)
… just to be clear, I am a healthy woman and I know you can never get enough clothes … but my enough now is different from my enough in the past

… coming back – for a moment – to different styles at different stages of life, have you ever noticed the difference in a way of clothing of single women and those who are already in relationships …?

… and there also some milestones in your life when you just feel like changing a lot in your style … and wardrobe!

It’s even better inside …

today again shortly and I am sure -> not very unconventionally … I like to know something that others don’t, it refers also to my clothes and accessories … it’s funny that an invisible thing/feature can change the look and/or the way you feel just because you are the only one who knows about it; for instance when you’re wearing very sexy lingerie under an old sweater (makes you feel great!) or know the beautiful interior of your clutch …

Winter girl is a sweater girl

I warned you, I will be posting a lot now …
This time shorty … what goes perfectly together as a winter look ?
For me always a big, soft sweater accompanied by jeans or even better by leather pants !

… this one I got on sale, it was a quick buy beCOS I already tried it on before …

… this one is just a sweater but sometimes it’s so hard to find “just a thing”
What else? … just a very gentle, natural make-up, something like this below (this photo is from my early scrapbooks), I love their look !!

boring, ha?

It’s the New Year !! Let’s look back …

Happy New Year !!  It’s been two months since my last post so please be prepared there might be a bit more coming now …

I found one of my first scrapbooks !!! I mentioned them once in ABOUT section.
It’s interesting and funny at the same time to see what I used to like …
I can see now that some of my preferences haven’t changed through the years !
Let me go back for a while to my fashion heroes of the past …

Małgosia Bela at French VOGUE cover in February 2000 ! I am constantly impressed with her beauty but also appreciate the way she is: modest and professional at the same time.

I loved LINDA ! Do you remember Models, the film by Peter Lindberg? (it’s from 1991 -> with Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Stephanie Seymour).
I so much loved it, watched it million times not only for those amazingly beautiful girls but also for its exceptional climate.
I was totally delighted with Linda’s (Evangelista) beauty, she was just perfect for me. I also admired Stephanie Seymour and Tatjana Patitz, the last one seems to be a bit neurotic but it just adds to her charm …
I’ve just watched the film again and have to admit it has some sentimental value for me. This was one of my earliest sights into the fashion world … (also one of the first available for me at that time – in early nineties).
You have to see the trailer and then the movie !
I love one of the first scenes, when they all are getting out of the car and walking towards camera, all wearing suits …

I used to admire a lot, the style of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, you can see her above on the picture with a dog … she was for me that perfect definition of effortless chic and definitely the person who knew what suited her.

Finally … I was a big fan of Twin Peaks girls: Scherilyn Fenn, Madchen Amick and Lara Flyn Boyle, … but this love did not survive through the years … above you can see some good shots of Lara from the time I liked to watch her …
